Ingredients
Scale
Fruit and Liquid Base
- 4 ripe peaches, pitted and roughly chopped
- 1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 6-8 lemons)
- 1 cup water
Sweetener
- ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
Ice and Garnishes
- 4 cups ice cubes
- Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
- Peach slices, for garnish (optional)
- Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Peaches: Place the chopped peaches into a blender to start creating the fruit base for the slushie.
- Add Lemon Juice: Pour freshly squeezed lemon juice into the blender with the peaches to add tanginess and brightness to the drink.
- Add Water and Sugar: Pour in 1 cup of water and add the granulated sugar, adjusting the sugar quantity according to your preferred sweetness level.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend the mixture thoroughly until smooth, scraping down the sides of the blender as needed to ensure even blending.
- Adjust Sweetness: Taste the blend and add more sugar if necessary, blending again briefly to incorporate.
- Optional Straining: To achieve an ultra-smooth texture, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth. Press down to extract as much liquid as possible and discard the solids left behind.
- Return to Blender: Pour the strained or unstrained peach lemonade back into the blender for the final stage of creation.
- Add Ice Cubes: Add 4 cups of ice cubes to the blender to chill and create the slushie texture.
- Blend to Slushie Consistency: Blend on high speed until the mixture becomes smooth and slushy, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed.
- Adjust Texture: If the slushie is too thick, add water one tablespoon at a time and blend again; if too thin, add more ice cubes and blend until desired consistency is reached.
- Final Flavor Adjustment: Taste again and adjust with extra lemon juice or sugar if needed, blending briefly to mix.
- Serve: Pour the peach lemonade slushie into glasses or mason jars for serving.
- Garnish: Add lemon slices, peach slices, and fresh mint sprigs on top for a decorative and flavorful touch.
- Enjoy Immediately: Serve the slushie right away to enjoy its refreshing, icy texture at its best.
Notes
- Adjust sugar quantity based on the natural sweetness of your peaches and personal preference.
- Straining the mixture is optional but results in a smoother drink.
- For a boozy version, add a splash of vodka or rum before blending the ice.
- Use ripe peaches for the best flavor; frozen peaches can also work if fresh are unavailable.
- To make it vegan and halal friendly, ensure sugar used is vegan certified and avoid alcohol additions.
