Ingredients
Scale
Ice Cream Mixture
- 1 container (1.75 quart) vanilla ice cream
- 1 container (8 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Corn Flakes Coating
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3 cups crushed Corn Flakes cereal
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Toppings
- 1/4 cup honey
- Chocolate syrup, for drizzling
- Caramel sauce, for drizzling
Instructions
- Soften ice cream: Remove the vanilla ice cream from the freezer and allow it to sit at room temperature for approximately 30 minutes, so it softens enough to blend easily.
- Prepare corn flakes coating: In a medium skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the crushed corn flakes and granulated sugar, stirring constantly. Fry the mixture for about 5 minutes, or until the cereal is golden brown, being careful not to burn it.
- Layer base coating: Spread one-third of the toasted corn flakes mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
- Mix ice cream and Cool Whip: In a large bowl, combine the softened vanilla ice cream and thawed Cool Whip. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the mixture and stir thoroughly with a spatula until well blended.
- Assemble dessert: Spread the ice cream mixture evenly over the corn flakes layer in the baking dish. Then, sprinkle the remaining corn flakes mixture evenly over the top, followed by drizzling the honey over the entire surface.
- Freeze dessert: Cover the baking dish with a lid or plastic wrap and place it in the freezer. Allow the dessert to freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight to set properly.
- Serve: Cut the frozen dessert into squares and serve on plates. Drizzle each serving with chocolate syrup and caramel sauce. Optionally, add whipped cream and a cherry on top for extra indulgence.
Notes
- Letting the ice cream soften is crucial for easy mixing with Cool Whip.
- Be attentive while frying the corn flakes mixture to avoid burning; it can brown quickly.
- The dessert must be frozen for at least 6 hours to achieve the best texture and to hold its shape when served.
- You can substitute the vanilla ice cream with any other flavor if desired, but classic vanilla works best.
- For a festive touch, add whipped cream and a maraschino cherry on top before serving.
