Instructions

- Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, baking soda, and salt thoroughly to ensure even distribution.
- Add wet ingredients: Pour in the melted butter and vanilla extract into the dry mixture and stir well until the ingredients are fully incorporated into a cohesive dough.
- Fold in chocolate chips: Gently mix in the chocolate chips, spreading them throughout the batter without overworking it.
- Spread in pan: Grease a baking pan and evenly press the mixture into it, making sure the surface is smooth and compact.
- Bake the bars: Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the top turns a light golden brown.
- Cool and cut: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool completely to set properly before cutting into 12 servings.
Notes
- For chewier bars, slightly underbake by a couple of minutes.
- You can substitute chocolate chips with white chocolate or nuts for variety.
- Store bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.
- Make sure to cool fully before slicing to prevent crumbling.
- Use rolled oats, not instant oats, for best texture.
