Description

This Best Buffalo Chicken Dip is a creamy, cheesy, and spicy appetizer perfect for game day or any party. Made with shredded chicken, cream cheese, ranch dressing, and hot sauce, it’s baked to perfection with melted mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top for a deliciously irresistible dip.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 3 pieces Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts

Dip Base

  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese (cubed)
  • 1 cup Ranch Dressing
  • 1 cup Hot Sauce (for buffalo flavor)
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions (chopped)

Cheese

  • 1.5 cups Mozzarella Cheese (shredded and divided)
  • 1.5 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded and divided)

Instructions

  1. Cook Chicken: Boil the boneless, skinless chicken breasts in water for about 20-25 minutes, or until fully cooked through. Once cooked, remove from water and shred the chicken into bite-sized pieces using two forks.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken with cubed cream cheese, ranch dressing, hot sauce, freshly ground black pepper, garlic powder, and chopped green onions. Stir until the mixture becomes creamy and well combined.
  3. Add Cheese to Mixture: Gently fold in 1 cup each of the shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese into the creamy dip mixture, ensuring even distribution.
  4. Prepare Baking Dish: Spoon the creamy dip mixture into a baking dish, spreading it out evenly to create a uniform layer.
  5. Top with Remaining Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 0.5 cups of mozzarella and cheddar cheese evenly over the top of the dip.
  6. Bake the Dip: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the dip for 25-30 minutes until the cheese on top is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden brown.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken as a shortcut to save time on cooking and shredding.
  • For extra heat, increase the amount of hot sauce or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crackers.
  • Can be made a day ahead and reheated in the oven before serving.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is cubed to make mixing easier.
