- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions
- Heat the Oil and Cook Beef: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Sauté Vegetables: Add the chopped onion, bell pepper, and garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until the vegetables are softened and fragrant.
- Add Sauce Ingredients: Stir in ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, yellow mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Simmer: Reduce heat to low and simmer the mixture for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and saucy.
- Serve: Spoon the hot sloppy joe mixture onto hamburger buns and serve immediately.
Notes
- For a leaner version, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
