Ingredients
Scale
For the Sandwich
- 2 slices of bread
- 1/2 cup cooked salmon, flaked
- 2 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese, softened
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Prepare the Salmon Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the flaked cooked salmon with softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, chopped fresh dill, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Spread the salmon mixture evenly onto one slice of bread. Layer the two cheddar cheese slices over the salmon mixture, then top with the second slice of bread to form a sandwich.
- Butter the Bread: Evenly butter the outside surfaces of both slices of bread to ensure a golden, crispy exterior when cooked.
- Cook the Sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the sandwich in the pan and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side. Press gently with a spatula to promote even browning and melting of the cheese. Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
- Serve: Remove the sandwich from the skillet and let it rest for one minute. Slice and serve warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Use sourdough or whole grain bread for added flavor and texture.
- Add sliced tomatoes or fresh spinach leaves inside the sandwich for a fresh twist.
- Leftover grilled or baked salmon can be used to make this recipe more convenient.
