Coffee Base

  • 2 cups Nespresso coffee
  • 1 teaspoon crushed candy canes
  • 2 candy canes (for garnish)

Peppermint Marshmallow Creamer

  • 1/2 cup half & half cream (10% fat)
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract

Peppermint Whipped Cream

  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream (35% fat), cold
  • 1 tablespoon icing sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract


Instructions

  1. Brew Coffee: Brew 2 cups of Nespresso coffee using your machine and keep it hot for serving.
  2. Heat Cream: Pour half & half cream into a saucepan and heat over medium heat until small bubbles form at the edges, but do not boil.
  3. Melt Marshmallows: Add mini marshmallows to the heated cream and whisk continuously until they have completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
  4. Add Peppermint Extract: Stir in 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract thoroughly, then remove the mixture from heat to prevent curdling.
  5. Whip Heavy Cream: In a chilled bowl, whip the cold heavy cream until it begins to thicken slightly.
  6. Add Sugar and Peppermint: Add icing sugar and the remaining 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract to the whipped cream, then whip until soft peaks form to desired consistency.
  7. Combine Creamer and Coffee: Pour the warm peppermint marshmallow creamer into the hot coffee and stir gently to combine flavors.
  8. Top with Whipped Cream: Spoon or pipe the peppermint whipped cream on top of the latte for a creamy finish.
  9. Garnish: Sprinkle crushed candy canes over the whipped cream and place a whole candy cane on the side for decoration and extra peppermint flavor.
