Description

Enjoy these flavorful and easy Lunch Lady Beef Tacos made with lean ground beef and a rich blend of spices simmered in tomato paste for a hearty, satisfying meal ready in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Beef Mixture

  • 1â…” lb lean ground beef
  • 4 tsp dried minced onion flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 6 Tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1½ Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp onion powder

Instructions

  1. Cook the Ground Beef: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the lean ground beef until it is no longer pink. This should take about 6 to 8 minutes. Be sure to break the meat up as it cooks for even browning. Once cooked, drain any excess grease from the skillet.
  2. Add the Seasonings and Simmer: Add the dried minced onion flakes, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, tomato paste, water, chili powder, ground cumin, paprika, and onion powder to the skillet. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened and the flavors meld together.
  3. Serve the Tacos: Spoon the beef mixture into taco shells and add your favorite taco toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, or salsa. Serve immediately for a quick and delicious lunch or dinner option.

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce grease and keep the tacos healthier.
  • You can substitute beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • Adjust the chili powder and spices according to your heat preference.
  • Simmering the beef mixture allows the tomato paste and spices to deepen the flavor.
  • Feel free to add fresh toppings like cilantro, avocado, or lime for extra freshness and zest.
