Ingredients
Scale
Cereal Mix
- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 1 box Lucky Charms cereal, divided (reserve marshmallows and 3 cups of cereal separately)
Add-ins
- 8 oz mint M&Ms
- 24 oz almond bark
Instructions
- Separate Lucky Charms: Pour the entire box of Lucky Charms into a large bowl and carefully separate the marshmallows from the cereal pieces. Set aside the marshmallows and reserve 3 cups of the remaining cereal. This step ensures the marshmallows stay fresh and crunchy.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the 8 cups of Crispix cereal, the reserved 3 cups of Lucky Charms cereal, and the 8 ounces of mint M&Ms. Mix gently to distribute the ingredients evenly.
- Melt almond bark: Following the package instructions, melt the 24 ounces of almond bark until smooth and pourable. This usually involves microwaving in short intervals and stirring in between.
- Mix almond bark with cereals: Pour the melted almond bark over the cereal mixture and toss thoroughly to coat all the pieces evenly with the sweet coating.
- Add marshmallows: Sprinkle the reserved Lucky Charms marshmallows over the coated cereal mixture and gently fold them in to maintain their shape and texture.
- Set the mix: Transfer the mixture onto wax paper or parchment paper in an even layer. Allow it to set at room temperature until the almond bark hardens, about 15-20 minutes.
- Break into pieces: Once set, break the mixture into bite-sized pieces and serve or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
Notes
- You can store the Leprechaun Bait in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free cereals.
- If almond bark is not available, white chocolate chips can be substituted, but melting times may vary.
- Be careful when melting almond bark to avoid overheating and burning.
