Slider Ingredients
- 12 slider buns or dinner rolls
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced deli ham
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 pound thinly sliced Genoa salami
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 1 cup sliced banana peppers (optional)
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives (optional)
- 1/4 cup sliced red onion
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Italian Dressing Ingredients
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to prepare for baking the sliders evenly.
- Prepare the Sliders: Slice the slider buns or dinner rolls in half horizontally and arrange the bottom halves in a baking dish. Layer the deli ham, pepperoni, Genoa salami, and provolone cheese evenly over the bottom halves. If using, add sliced banana peppers, black olives, shredded lettuce, and sliced red onion on top of the meat and cheese layers. Finish by placing the top halves of the buns over the filling to create sandwiches.
- Make the Italian Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, red wine vinegar, Dijon mustard, dried oregano, dried basil, minced garlic, and salt and pepper until thoroughly combined to create a flavorful dressing.
- Drizzle with Dressing: Evenly drizzle the prepared Italian dressing over the assembled sliders, allowing it to soak into the buns and coat the filling layers, enhancing flavor.
- Bake the Sliders: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil to keep moisture in, then bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the sliders are heated through.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven, sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for added freshness, and serve warm. These make a delicious main dish or a flavorful addition to a party platter.
Notes
- Optional toppings like banana peppers, black olives, and red onion add extra flavor and texture but can be omitted if preferred.
- Feel free to substitute provolone cheese with mozzarella or another mild Italian cheese for variation.
- For a spicier version, add a dash of crushed red pepper flakes to the Italian dressing.
- Leftover sliders can be wrapped tightly and refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat covered in the oven.
