Scale
Ingredients
- 1 large yellow onion
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups grated Swiss cheese
Instructions
- Preheat and Prep. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Peel the onion and cut it into quarters, then thinly slice each quarter to create fine onion slices for the dip.
- Combine Ingredients. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, grated Swiss cheese, and the sliced onions. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated.
- Bake. Transfer the combined mixture into a baking dish, smoothing the top evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the top has developed a golden brown crust.
- Serve. Remove the dip from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes to thicken slightly. Serve warm with your favorite dippers such as crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- Allowing the dip to cool slightly after baking helps it set and prevents burns while eating.
- You can substitute Swiss cheese with Gruyère or mozzarella for a slightly different flavor and texture.
- For extra flavor, sauté the onions until caramelized before mixing for a deeper onion taste.
- This dip is best served warm but can be reheated gently before serving again.
