Description
A vibrant and flavorful Hot Honey Chicken Bowl featuring pan-seared chicken breasts glazed with a sweet and spicy hot honey drizzle, served atop fresh mixed greens with cucumber and avocado for a healthy and satisfying meal ready in under 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 2 chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp hot honey
Salad Base
- 2 cups mixed greens
- 1/2 cup cucumber, sliced
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
- Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and golden brown on the outside.
- Drizzle Hot Honey: Remove the cooked chicken from the pan and drizzle the hot honey evenly over both breasts, allowing the sweet and spicy glaze to coat the meat thoroughly.
- Assemble the Bowl: Place a bed of mixed greens into serving bowls. Arrange the sliced cucumber and avocado on top, then place the hot honey-coated chicken breasts over the salad.
- Serve: Optionally, add your favorite dressing or a simple vinaigrette to enhance the flavors, then serve immediately while the chicken is warm.
Notes
- Use fresh hot honey or a mix of honey and a hot chili sauce if hot honey is unavailable.
- For a lower-fat version, use cooking spray instead of olive oil.
- Ensure chicken is fully cooked with an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Add nuts or seeds for extra crunch if desired.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
