Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 1 lb cremini or button mushrooms, cleaned and trimmed
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Clean the mushrooms by wiping them with a damp paper towel, avoiding rinsing to preserve texture and flavor.
- Prepare Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Stir well until the ingredients are thoroughly mixed.
- Coat Mushrooms: Toss the cleaned mushrooms in the honey-garlic sauce until evenly coated. Arrange the mushrooms in a single layer on a baking sheet to ensure even roasting.
- Roast Mushrooms: Place the baking sheet in the oven and roast for 20 minutes. Stir the mushrooms halfway through the cooking time to allow the sauce to caramelize evenly, forming a sticky, flavorful glaze.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the mushrooms from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm as a side dish or appetizer.
Notes
- Use cremini mushrooms for a deeper flavor or button mushrooms for a milder taste.
- Do not rinse mushrooms under water; cleaning with a damp towel keeps them from becoming soggy.
- Stir halfway through roasting to ensure even caramelization.
- Adjust honey and soy sauce quantities to taste for sweeter or saltier glaze.
- Fresh parsley adds a nice color contrast and fresh herb flavor but can be omitted.
