Description

These Herb & Cheese Stuffed Puff Pastry Bites are a delightful and easy-to-make snack perfect for parties or casual gatherings. Flaky puff pastry is filled with a creamy blend of cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, and fresh herbs, baked until golden and puffy. Serve warm for a savory treat that’s sure to impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Cheese Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Herbs & Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp salt

For Egg Wash

  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Prepare filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, chopped chives, garlic powder, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  3. Cut pastry: Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into 2-inch squares for uniform bites.
  4. Fill pastry squares: Place about 1 teaspoon of the cheese and herb mixture in the center of each pastry square. Fold each square over to form a triangle or envelope shape and press the edges firmly to seal and prevent leakage during baking.
  5. Brush & bake: Using a brush, coat the tops of the filled pastries with the beaten egg to achieve a golden, glossy finish. Place the pastries on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove the pastry bites from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm as a flavorful party appetizer or a delicious snack.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to avoid lumps in the filling.
  • Chop herbs finely to evenly distribute them in the cheese filling.
  • You can customize the filling by adding other herbs or spices according to your taste.
  • If you prefer, freeze any leftover puff pastry for later use.
  • Serve these bites immediately for the best flaky texture; they may lose crispness if stored for long.
