Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound (454 g) lean ground beef
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
- Optional: diced onions
Wrap Fillings
- 5 medium tortilla wraps
- 5 slices American cheese
- 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
- 1 cup romaine lettuce, chopped
- Optional condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, relish for serving
Instructions
- Brown the Beef: Heat a large skillet coated with cooking spray over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook for about 7 to 10 minutes, breaking it up to avoid clumps. Cook until the beef is mostly browned but still slightly pink to develop rich flavor.
- Season the Beef: Stir in Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, grated Parmesan cheese, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly to evenly distribute the seasonings.
- Finish Cooking Beef: Continue cooking the beef mixture until fully cooked through, with no pink remaining.
- Assemble Wraps: Place one slice of American cheese in the center of each tortilla wrap. Top each with about 1/3 cup (~80 g) of the cooked beef mixture, followed by tomato slices, chopped romaine lettuce, and optional diced onions.
- Add Condiments: Spread ketchup, mustard, and a little mayonnaise over the fillings as desired to enhance flavor and moisture.
- Roll the Wraps: Roll each tortilla tightly with the fillings centered and place seam-side down on a preheated indoor grill or grill pan set to medium-high heat.
- Grill One Side: Grill each wrap for 3 to 4 minutes until grill marks appear and the wrap’s exterior becomes crunchy.
- Grill the Other Side: Turn the wrap over and grill for another 3 to 4 minutes until golden brown grill marks form and the cheese inside melts.
- Keep Warm: Transfer grilled wraps to a warming area or oven set to low heat to keep warm while grilling the remaining wraps.
Notes
- For extra sharp flavor, add diced onions inside the wraps.
- You can substitute American cheese with cheddar or your favorite melting cheese.
- Use whole wheat or spinach tortillas for a healthier twist.
- Serve with your preferred condiments on the side for dipping or spreading.
- Ensure the grill or grill pan is properly heated before placing the wraps to get great grill marks and texture.
