Description

A quick and easy Garlic Parmesan Pasta recipe that combines tender pasta with a rich garlic butter sauce and savory Parmesan cheese. Ready in just 15 minutes, this comforting dish is perfect for a fast weeknight dinner or a simple yet flavorful meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Pasta

  • 8 oz pasta (spaghetti or preferred type)

Sauce

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Once al dente, drain the pasta and reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta cooking water for later use.
  2. Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it brown.
  3. Toss Pasta in Garlic Butter: Add the cooked pasta into the skillet with the garlic butter and toss well to coat the noodles evenly with the flavorful mixture.
  4. Add Parmesan and Pasta Water: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese along with the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together to combine and create a creamy sauce. Add more pasta water if needed to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Season and Garnish: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired, then serve immediately for a delicious and comforting meal.

Notes

  • Be careful not to burn the garlic as it will turn bitter and affect the flavor.
  • You can substitute Parmesan with Pecorino Romano for a sharper taste.
  • Reserve some pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency and help it cling to the noodles.
  • For extra protein, add cooked chicken or shrimp on top.
  • This recipe is best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
