Description

Garlic Bread Taco Bites are a fun and flavorful appetizer that combines crispy, buttery garlic bread cups with savory taco-seasoned beef and melted cheese. These bite-sized treats are perfect for parties, game days, or weeknight snacks and pack a delicious punch in every serving.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough and Seasoning

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough or crescent roll dough
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Filling

  • 1/2 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese

Optional Toppings

  • 1/4 cup salsa or taco sauce
  • Sour cream
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Dough: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a mini muffin tin. Separate the biscuit or crescent dough into individual portions and press each piece into the muffin cups to form small dough cups.
  2. Make Garlic Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine melted butter with garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush this flavorful mixture evenly over the dough cups to infuse them with garlic butter goodness.
  3. Cook the Meat: Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the ground beef or turkey until it’s browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Season the Meat: Stir in the taco seasoning and water into the cooked meat, then simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the mixture thickens and flavors meld together.
  5. Assemble the Bites: Spoon the seasoned meat mixture evenly into each garlic buttered dough cup. Top each with shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese for a melty finish.
  6. Bake: Place the mini muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough cups are golden brown and the cheese has melted beautifully.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Allow the bites to cool slightly. Optionally, add a small dollop of salsa or sour cream on top and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Prep the meat filling ahead of time and assemble the bites just before baking to save time on game day or parties.
  • Customize the filling by adding black beans, corn, or jalapeños for extra flavor and texture.
  • Use turkey instead of beef for a leaner alternative.
  • Serve with additional salsa or sour cream on the side for dipping.
