Description

These Eyeball Jello Shots are a fun and festive party treat, combining sweet strawberry gelatin with a splash of vodka and topped with spooky gummy eyeballs. Perfect for Halloween or any playful gathering, these shots are easy to prepare and chill, offering a delightful burst of fruity flavor with a boozy kick.

Ingredients

Scale

Gelatin Mixture

  • 3 ounce box Strawberry Jell-O gelatin
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • ½ cup cold water
  • ½ cup vodka

Garnish

  • 12 gummy eyeball candies

Instructions

  1. Dissolve gelatin: In a large bowl with a pour spout, add the strawberry gelatin and boiling water. Whisk thoroughly until the gelatin has completely dissolved, ensuring there are no lumps.
  2. Add cold water and vodka: Whisk in the cold water and vodka into the dissolved gelatin mixture to combine evenly.
  3. Pour into cups: Arrange twelve 2-ounce jello shot cups on a rimmed tray to catch any spills during transport. Slowly pour the strawberry mixture into each cup, filling up to the fill line and leaving about â…› inch of space at the top.
  4. Chill and add eyeballs: Refrigerate the tray for 1 to 1 ½ hours until the jello shots are partially set and firm. Then, gently place one gummy eyeball candy on top of each shot. Return the tray to the refrigerator for an additional 1 ½ hours or up to overnight for the shots to fully set and firm.
  5. Store and serve: After the jello shots are completely set, secure lids on each cup and keep them chilled in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Use a rimmed tray to prevent spills when transferring the jello shots to the fridge.
  • For best texture, do not skip the initial partial setting before adding gummy eyeballs.
  • Jello shots can be prepared a day in advance to save time on party day.
  • Adjust vodka amount if you prefer a stronger or milder alcohol taste.
  • Be sure to chill fully for the gummy eyeballs to stay placed on top without sinking.
