Ingredients
Scale
Frappe Ingredients
- 1 cup strong, good quality brewed coffee, frozen into cubes
- ½ cup milk
- 3 tablespoons sugar or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons caramel syrup
Toppings (Optional)
- Whipped cream
- Caramel syrup
Instructions
- Prepare Coffee Cubes: Brew strong, good quality coffee and pour it into an ice cube tray. Freeze until solid, ideally overnight, to create coffee ice cubes that prevent the frappe from becoming diluted.
- Combine Ingredients: Place the frozen coffee cubes, milk, sugar, and caramel syrup into a blender. Do not add whipped cream at this stage.
- Blend the Mixture: Blend the ingredients until the coffee cubes are crushed and the mixture is smooth and frothy. If blending is difficult or uneven, let the mixture sit for a couple of minutes to soften the ice cubes, then blend again until well combined.
- Add Toppings: Pour the blended frappe into a glass. Optionally, top with whipped cream and drizzle extra caramel syrup on top for added sweetness and decoration.
Notes
- Freezing coffee into cubes prevents the frappe from becoming watered down as the ice melts.
- Adjust sugar quantity to your taste or substitute with a calorie-free sweetener for a lighter version.
- Use whole milk for creaminess or substitute with plant-based milk to suit dietary preferences.
- Optional whipped cream and caramel drizzle add richness but can be omitted for a lighter drink.
