Ingredients
Scale
Liquid Base
- 2 cups water
Fruit
- 1 cup frozen dragon fruit
- 1/2 cup chopped mango
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- Zest of 2 lemons
Sweetener and Seasoning
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/8 tsp kosher salt or Celtic sea salt
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Gather all ingredients including frozen dragon fruit, chopped mango, freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, honey, salt, and water.
- Blend the Ingredients: Add all ingredients except honey into a high-powered blender. Add honey last so it doesn’t stick to the bottom. Start blending on low speed for 30 seconds, then increase speed to medium-high and blend for 1 minute and 30 seconds until the mixture is frothy.
- Strain the Lemonade: Place a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve over a large pitcher or bowl with a spout. Pour the blended lemonade through it, squeezing out all the liquid to remove pulp and seeds, ensuring a smooth texture.
- Chill and Serve: Transfer the strained lemonade to a glass bottle or jar. Chill in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours until cold. Alternatively, serve immediately over ice for a refreshing drink.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey according to your taste preference.
- Using frozen dragon fruit helps with chilling the lemonade and gives it a thicker texture without diluting.
- Straining the lemonade is optional but recommended for a smoother drink free from pulp and seeds.
- For a vegan option, substitute honey with agave syrup or maple syrup.
- Make sure to zest the lemons before juicing to get the freshest flavor.
