Instructions
- Preheat and butter the pan: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C). Melt 1/2 cup of unsalted butter and pour it evenly into an 8×8-inch baking dish to coat the bottom and infuse flavor.
- Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt until well combined.
- Add buttermilk: Pour in 1 3/4 cups of buttermilk and stir gently until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the biscuit texture tender.
- Fold in blueberries: Carefully fold 1 cup of fresh blueberries into the batter, taking care not to crush them, so they remain whole and juicy.
- Transfer to baking dish: Pour the batter into the prepared buttered baking dish and spread it out evenly with a spatula.
