Description

This Creamy Garlic Chicken recipe features juicy, golden-brown chicken breasts simmered in a rich and luscious sauce made with garlic, Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, and chicken broth. It’s a comforting and elegant dish that comes together quickly in one skillet, perfect for a delicious weeknight dinner or special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • Salt & pepper, to taste

For Cooking

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Sauce

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Season Chicken: Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper on both sides to enhance flavor.
  2. Cook Chicken: Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes per side. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
  4. Prepare Sauce: Pour in the chicken broth, heavy cream, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir continuously to combine and allow the sauce to thicken and become creamy, which should take a few minutes.
  5. Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet and let them simmer in the creamy garlic sauce for a few minutes to meld the flavors together.
  6. Add Lemon Juice and Garnish: Stir in the lemon juice for a bright, fresh flavor, then garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker sauce, simmer the sauce a little longer before adding the chicken back in.
  • You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts if preferred.
  • Serve with rice, pasta, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy and tender.
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese works best for the creamiest sauce.
