Ingredients
Scale
Breakfast Rolls
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 1 tube (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter (optional, for greasing)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Cook Sausage: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until it is browned and crumbled. Drain any excess grease and set the cooked sausage aside.
- Cook Eggs: In a separate pan, scramble the eggs with a pinch of salt and pepper. Cook over low heat until the eggs are just set, stirring occasionally to ensure they remain soft. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- Prepare Crescent Rolls: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Lay the triangles flat on a clean surface to prepare for filling.
- Assemble Rolls: Place a spoonful of cooked sausage, scrambled eggs, and a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each dough triangle.
- Roll Up: Starting from the wide end of each triangle, roll the dough tightly towards the narrow end, sealing the edges to fully enclose the filling. Place the rolls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake: Bake the assembled rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crescent rolls are golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Allow the breakfast rolls to cool for a few minutes after baking. Serve warm for a delicious and hearty breakfast or brunch treat.
Notes
- You can substitute cheddar cheese with mozzarella or pepper jack for a different flavor.
- For a lower-fat option, use turkey sausage and reduced-fat cheese.
- Make sure to seal the edges well to prevent filling from leaking during baking.
- These rolls can be prepared ahead of time and baked fresh in the morning.
- Add chopped veggies like bell peppers or onions to the scrambled eggs for extra nutrition and flavor.
