Ingredients
Scale
Marinade Ingredients
- ¾ cup Worcestershire sauce
- ½ cup water
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp chili powder
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup horseradish mustard
- 2 tsp salt (or to taste)
- Black pepper (to taste)
Chicken
- 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to an even thickness)
Instructions
- Make the marinade: Combine Worcestershire sauce, water, apple cider vinegar, sugar, chili powder, butter, horseradish mustard, salt, and black pepper in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and meld the flavors. Once boiling, remove from heat and allow the marinade to cool completely.
- Marinate the chicken: Place the pounded chicken breasts in a large ziplock bag. Pour the cooled marinade over the chicken, seal the bag tightly, and refrigerate for 8 hours. This allows the chicken to soak up the tangy and spicy flavors thoroughly.
- Grill the chicken: Remove the chicken breasts from the marinade and discard the excess liquid. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the chicken breasts for about 8 minutes on each side or until they are fully cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C). Let the chicken rest a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Make sure to pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness for uniform cooking.
- Marinating the chicken overnight will deepen the flavor even more.
- Monitor the grill closely to avoid overcooking and drying out the chicken.
- This marinade can also be used with pork or beef for a similar tangy BBQ flavor.
