Description

Deliciously rich and fudgy blueberry brownies that combine the classic chocolatey goodness of brownies with bursts of fresh blueberries. These moist, flavorful treats are perfect for dessert or a sweet snack, baked to perfection in just 40 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Brownie Batter

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder

Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well to combine all wet ingredients thoroughly.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients: Sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, salt, and baking powder to ensure even distribution. Gradually add these dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined without overmixing.
  4. Fold in Additions: Gently fold in the fresh blueberries and optional chocolate chips, being careful not to crush the berries to maintain their shape and flavor.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs, indicating the brownies are perfectly baked.
  6. Cool & Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the baking dish before slicing them into nine squares. Serve and enjoy your moist, fruity blueberry brownies!

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh, ripe blueberries to ensure juicy bursts of flavor.
  • If blueberries are frozen, thaw and drain excess liquid to avoid soggy brownies.
  • Chocolate chips are optional but add extra chocolate richness if desired.
  • Greasing the pan or using parchment paper makes removal and cleanup easier.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
