Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (or 1 homemade biscuit recipe)
Sausage Gravy
- ½ lb breakfast sausage
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1½ cups whole milk
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp butter
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare crust: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease or line a baking sheet or pizza pan with parchment paper. Separate the biscuit dough and press the pieces together on the baking sheet to form a large round or rectangle, sealing edges to create an even crust. Bake for 8–10 minutes until lightly golden.
- Make sausage gravy: While the crust bakes, cook the sausage in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles until browned. Do not drain the fat. Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to coat evenly. Cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste, then gradually add milk while stirring. Simmer for 3–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the gravy thickens. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Prepare scrambled eggs: In a separate pan, melt butter and scramble the eggs over medium-low heat until just set but still moist. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the pizza: Spread the warm sausage gravy evenly over the par-baked biscuit crust. Top with scrambled eggs and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
- Bake to finish: Return the assembled pizza to the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
- Garnish and serve: Optionally garnish with chopped fresh parsley, slice into portions, and serve warm.
Notes
- You can prepare the sausage gravy ahead of time and reheat it before assembling the pizza.
- For extra flavor, add toppings like cooked bacon, hash browns, or sautéed peppers.
- Use homemade biscuit dough for a more rustic and fresh crust if desired.
- Leftover breakfast pizza can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven or microwave.
