Description

Crispy and flavorful Baked Garlic Parmesan Fries made from fresh russet potatoes, tossed in olive oil, garlic, and Parmesan cheese, then baked to golden perfection. A delicious and healthier alternative to traditional fried fries, perfect as a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Fries

  • 3 large russet potatoes, cut into thin fries
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder

Topping

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Fries: Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Soak the cut fries in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps to achieve extra crispiness. Drain and pat the fries thoroughly dry using paper towels.
  2. Toss Fries with Seasonings: In a large bowl, combine the dried fries with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss until the fries are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  3. Arrange and Bake: Spread the fries out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet without overlapping. Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, flipping the fries halfway through cooking to ensure even browning, until they are golden brown and crispy.
  4. Add Parmesan and Parsley: Remove the fries from the oven and immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley over them. Toss gently to combine and serve the fries hot.

Notes

  • For even crispier fries, place a wire rack over the baking sheet and bake the fries on it, or finish by broiling for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • These fries pair wonderfully with garlic aioli, ranch dressing, or marinara sauce.
